How to Setup or Configure Email in Apple Mail Leopard

Info you will need:

Email in Apple Mail LeopardYour domain name, e.g. resultit.com.au
Email in Apple Mail LeopardYour email address.
Email in Apple Mail LeopardYour email password.

STEP by STEP: Configuring Email – Apple Mail Leopard

Step 1. Open Apple Mail Leopard.
Step 2. From the Tools menu, choose Account Settings

Step 3. Click the Accounts button and click on '+' button at the bottom

Step 4. Perform the following steps:
Apple Mail Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard
Full Name: John Smith
Email Address: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Password: This is the password you created for your email user.

Step 5. Provide Incoming Mail Settings:

Account Type: IMAP
Description: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Incoming Mail Server: mail.resultit.com.au
User Name: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Password: This is the password you created for your email user.

Step 6. Once you click continue you may be prompted with a connection error.
Please continue to your Incoming Mail Security Settings:
Please uncheck Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
Authentication: Password

Step 7. Provide Outgoing Mail Settings:

Description: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.resultit.com.au
Please check Use only this server
Please check Use Authentication
User Name: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Password: This is the password you created for your email user.

Step 8. Once you click continue you may be prompted with a connection error.
Please continue to your Outgoing Mail Security Settings:
Please uncheck Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
Authentication: Password

Step 9. Review your Settings:

Account Description: jsmith@resultit.com.au
Full Name: John Smith
Email Address: jsmith@resultit.com.au
User Name: jsmith@resultit.com.au

Incoming Mail Server: mail.resultit.com.au
SSL: off

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.optus.net.au
SSL: off

Please check Take account online

Step 10. Now feel free to test your settings by attempting to send and receive a email using your Apple Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard Mail.
